Something to share...

So, I'm in Connecticut for my brother's wedding, but I wanted to share something that I read on my flight here. It is from The Father Connection by Josh McDowell.

He is talking about how God loves us and he writes...

"That's the kind of father I want to be, even of my grown children. I want my kids to know that I accept and love them. I want them to know I loved them before they could return my love. I want them to know that I loved them when their primary interaction with me involved bottles, burps, and dirty diapers. I want them to know that my love for them is unconditional, not based on anything they do but on who they are.

"I also want my children to know that my love for them is foremost. My job, my hobbies, my friends, my status in the church or community - none of these is more important to me than they are. My love for them is foremost.

"Finally, I want to communicate to my children that I love them forever. I want them to know that I accept them and love them no matter what. They don't have to earn my love. They cannot escape my love. They cannot erase my love."

Can you imagine what our country would look like if this was the common desire of all fathers? For those of you who are praying for us and our baby, please pray that I can be this father.

Our first baby shower

Yesterday, we went to Tulsa where my old community group gave me a baby shower. My friends Julie and Julia hosted it, and it was at this cool tea room that was open just for us. It was so much fun! We have really missed our old CG since we moved in August, so it was amazing to see everyone. And we got some great gifts for Hannah! Thanks to all the girls who came! Here are some pictures...

This is me with Julia (on the left) and Julie... they are both such awesome moms and awesome friends! Thanks again girls for such a fun day!
