Wow

This is Eric again...

I've seen a lot of cool things in my life, but what we saw yesterday was probably the most amazing thing ever.

Since our doctor was too booked to do our ultrasound, we went to a different clinic. I brought my camera with the intention of taking video of the ultrasound, but the technician said I couldn't video the screen. I really wish we could have.

At first, she went through and measured a bunch of stuff...

"This is the leg.", "This is your hoosy-whatsit.", "That is the face (Which actually looked really creepy).", etc.

Then, we saw the first profile. The baby has come a LONG way since our first ultrasound.

I'll let you compare the pictures in Michelle's post to this one.
.
But even more amazing, was watching her move. Her arms and legs were waving and she was touching her face. I felt completely mesmerized by how incredible the whole thing was. At one point, the technician left the ultrasound thingy in one place and said "Let's just see what she does." Most amazing thing ever....
.
She didn't give us the definite sex, but the concensus seems to be girl. As much as most every dad wants a son, I am really excited about having a daughter. I just hope she likes baseball.

Hannah?

Today we went for what was supposed to be our big confirmation ultrasound. Unfortunately, they couldn't completely tell, although the ultrasound technician said she was 85% certain we were having a girl. So, until we are able to have another ultrasound, we're going to be calling her Hannah. We just won't be painting the nursery yet! Which is good, since we haven't even started clearing out the office stuff! But, regardless of not being completely certain about the sex, it was still an AMAZING experience!! We got a ton of pictures, and we got to watch her move around, and hear her heartbeat. Both Eric and I teared up... it was pretty emotional. I know I'm pregnant, but there is something about hearing her heartbeat and seeing her that makes it even more real. So, here are some of our favorite pictures, including the one they said showed her to be a girl. You can be the judge!!

Eric's First Post

For some reason we've decided to do this blog together...

This year has been beyond crazy. In January, I decided to start journaling as a New Year's resolution. It wasn't my first time trying this, but usually, I'd make it to mid-February and give up. This year was better...I made it to late August. When the year started, I had been unemployed for almost five months with no real prospects and wasn't really sure what I was going to write about. Since then, I got a job in February followed by a transfer/promotion in August. We bought a new, really awesome house in Arkansas, and as of next week, we will have a renter for our house in Tulsa. The fact that we got the house in Fayetteville was especially amazing since we got a mortgage at a time when no one was getting mortgages. Also, Michelle graduated from pharmacy school, began working as a pharmacist, and was promoted to pharmacy manager.

All of that would have been pretty amazing, and we thank God for every bit of it, but having a baby on the way trumps it all. The idea that in several months, a new life will be born that will have come from us, be wholly dependent on us, and become the thing we love most in this world, is absolutely awe-inspiring. Before this happened, we wanted a baby, but we had made sure that he/she didn't come until we were settled. We hadn't planned to have one now, but I really don't think that we could have planned it better.

So, that's where I am right now. I am equally excited to death and scared out of my mind, but I know God has had His hand on every part of this amazing year, and I can't wait to see how next year will start.

P.S. We were supposed to know if it was going to be Nathaniel or Hannah last week. The doctor said so. But then, the day we went in, the ultrasound room was occupied and we have to wait until after Christmas to find out. UGH! So, until then, the baby remains "Nath-annah".

First Post...

Welcome to our blog! We wanted to start it now so we could share our excitement and anticipation for the birth of Baby LeClerc in May 2009!

This weekend, we went to Babies R' Us and looked at all kinds of stuff and it made us realize that this is happening soon! We looked at nursery furniture, and Future Grandpa Marvin kept putting stuff in the cart to buy, including something Future Grandma Debbie was most excited about... a bathtub for the baby that turns into a spa. Hopefully, the baby will like bubbles :)

I'm still feeling pretty nauseated all day long, but being a pharmacist, I know what meds to ask for (don't worry, they are baby-safe!), so it's controllable. But, because everything makes me pukey, Eric has had to do a lot of dinner cooking and dish-doing. But, he's been a trooper and so supportive, even when I'm being ridiculous (cleaning out the fridge really does make me sick!).

We should find out the baby's sex on the 29th, so until then, we're just keeping our fingers crossed that the baby will cooperate and not be shy!
